Below are our customers most Frequently Asked Questions.

If we do not answer your question please contact us and we would love to talk to you!

Q: How many clothespins come in a set?

A: 10

Q: What is the difference between a factory first and a second?

A: Factory Firsts are the cream of the crop. Factory Seconds have what we call “beauty flaws” such as; small chips in wood, cuts for springs of gripping grooves too shallow, oil got tacky in a section (can be removed with acetone/nail polish remover), wood didn’t become smooth enough during tumbling, pin half too skinny or thick, tool burn on pin… all possibilities but all seconds are functional and are covered under the lifetime guarantee.

Q: What if one of my Kevin’s Quality Clothespins breaks?

A: Kevin’s Quality Clothespin Lifetime Guarantee:  If one of your Kevin’s Quality Clothespin should break due to normal wear or manufacturing defect, return the parts (wood and spring) to us and we will return to you a new clothespin to replace the malfunctioning clothespin.

Q: Why do you offer plain clothespins?

A: There is a variety of reasons why some customers prefer no linseed oil finish including:

  • Pins will be in contact with animals and linseed oil should not be ingested.
  • Allergies or customer dislikes linseed oil smell
  • They want a surface that paint or glue will adhere to for crafting

Q:  Why do you put a linseed oil finish on the clothespins?

A: Linseed oil protect the clothespins from weathering. However, if you regularly leave your clothespins on an outside line then they will eventually show signs of weathering as all wood does when left out in the weather. The linseed oil finish is cured into the clothespins and won’t transfer to your fabric.

Q: Can I get a discount?

A: If you purchase 5 sets or more you will receive an automatic discount of 10% or more. You can sign up for our newsletter on our home page to receive a 10% discount code. We send out newsletters about 4-6 times a year and in those newsletters, we often include a discount code.

Q: If I give my email how often will you be using it?

A: We will send you shipping confirmations, communications regarding your order and review requests after your purchase BUT other than that you will not receive emails unless you sign up for our newsletter.  If you sign up, you will get newsletters from us only 4-6 times a year.

Q: Where do you get your wood?

A: We use Western Maple for our clothespins that is locally sourced in the Pacific Northwest.

Q: Can you engrave words on your clothespins?

A: We are currently working on doing this. Hopefully by Winter of 2022 we will have custom clothespin engraving available.
